FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who places my note in the Kotel?

Des étudiants en Torah vivant à Jérusalem — que nous rémunérons dignement pour ce mandat, avec la caution de rabbanim. Chaque tournée commence par un moment d'étude au mérite de ceux dont ils portent les papiers.

Does anyone read my prayer?

No, never. Your text is encrypted upon sending, then printed automatically, without ever being displayed to anyone. The note is folded and closed with a numbered seal before the round, and no note is ever photographed open.

When is my note placed?

On the next round to the Kotel, generally within 2 to 4 days. With the 24-hour express option (+26 €), it leaves with a round within 24 hours. The Dedicated Mission (260 €) lets you choose a precise date.

How does the proof work?

Depending on the offer, you receive a photo of the round (Essential), a photo of your own sealed note in a crevice of the Wall (Individual Photo), or a video of the placement (Personalized Video). Date, time and seal number are embedded automatically on the image, impossible to retouch. See a sample proof.

What happens on Shabbat and holidays?

No placements or photos on Shabbat or Yom Tov. Notes intended for holiday eves are placed before the holiday begins, and you are notified by message.

In what language can I write my prayer?

In the language of your heart: English, Hebrew, French, or any other language. Tradition suggests mentioning the first name and the mother's first name (for example “David ben Sarah”), but it is not required.

Why is this service paid?

Prayer has no price, and the Kotel belongs to everyone — indeed, going yourself will always be the most beautiful gesture. What you pay for is a mandate: the printing and the seal, the journey of a Torah student paid a dignified wage, the timestamped proof and the guidance. Our amounts are symbolic numbers of the tradition (18, 26, 52, 101…), and every order supports Torah study in Jerusalem.

What happens to my note after the placement?

It stays in the Wall, like all the notes slipped into it. The Kotel's notes are removed twice a year by the site authorities and buried with respect according to tradition (geniza).

Can I give a placement as a gift?

Yes — it is even one of our most beautiful uses. Discover the “Light of Jerusalem” gift box, the gift cards and the group gift on the Gifts.

How do I place an order?

Orders are open. Write your prayer and choose your offer — your note leaves with one of the next rounds (within 2 to 4 days, or within 24 hours with the express option).
